Swingin' Sounds -- March 20, 2016

On March 20th, Montgomery Blair's Tri-M Music Honor Society Chapter 4407 hosted and presented "Swingin' Sounds for Senior Citizens," featuring dancing and listening to the great music of Big Band greats such as Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, George and Ira Gershwin, and Duke Ellington. “Swingin’ Sounds for Senior Citizens” is a service project of the Tri-M chapter. The goal of the program is to provide senior citizens from area nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and the community with a relaxed, casual environment where they can hear (and dance to) our two jazz bands performing music from the Big Band era in a coffee-house environment.
